Teenagers' weekend, Headlines Craniofacial Support

Craniosystenosis is the medical term used to describe the premature fusing of the seams which separate the bones of the skull.

These conditions can cause serious medical problems, not least of all a lack of space for a child's brain to grown.

Children can experience problems with their breathing, sight and often have to go through numerous operations.

Because their skulls are affected, youngsters with cranio-facial disorders will naturally look different to their friends.  Looks are never more important than in our teenage years which is why a weekend away is so important.

Jeans for Genes will help Headlines to offer children between 11 and 18 the chance to have a weekend at the Pioneer Centre near Kidderminster.

There will be a range of activities, advice, professional support and the chance to build their confidence and widen their horizons.  All of this takes place in an environment where they're no longer the one who looks different.
