James’ Story Sotos syndrome - Jeans for Genes

James’ Story

James was diagnosed at the age of 9 months with Sotos syndrome. He was a floppy baby who couldn’t open his hands or move his head as well as having no sucking reflex. Children with Sotos syndrome have low muscle tone, delayed motor and cognitive skills and communication difficulties.

To ensure his safety James sleeps in a cot although he has an erratic sleep pattern. James goes to a special needs nursery which he loves and is very happy there.
The Child Growth Foundation received a grant from funds raised on Jeans for Genes Day to pay for a crèche and evening entertainment at the charity’s annual convention.
