Angel, aged 8 and Moses, aged four have Albinism so even in winter they have to wear sunscreen, sunglasses and hats. Albinism can also cause visual problems with Angel struggling to read the board at school and having to have instructions in her own book.
Moses is more visually impaired than his sister and has a corner at home where he keeps things so that he knows where they are. Due to their condition the children cannot play outside and in the heat.
Albinism Fellowship was a Jeans for Genes Day 2016 grant charity and received a grant from funds raised on Jeans for Genes Day for the creation of a booklet on ‘understanding albinism’ for newly diagnosed children with albinism and their families.
